One of the best ideas in the
Mediterranean Coast is to practice water sports. In this area, Santa Pola and
Arenales beaches are excellent locations to do it. Both are popular
stopping points to practice these sports thanks to the geographical location,
the weather and the prevailing winds across the bay.
“Parres Watersports” offers their services (kitesurf, windsurf, surf, sup, small sailboats, kayaking) between
Arenales del Sol beach and Carabassi beach, and in La Gola beach (where you can
see a bunker from the Civil War). You can hire equipment and take clases.
You can only reach La Gola beach by a short
walking from the Tamarit beach, and you have a highly recommended stroll by the
shore from La Gola to Pinet beach.
There is other option in Club
Windsurf Santa Pola (Avenida Blasco IbaƱez 55). Their web
is http://www.windsurfsantapola.com
The kitesurf spots of Santa Pola fit well for any
level of kitesurfers because there are not big waves. In El Altet and San Juan
spots there are a lot of waves, so they are considered as spots for kitesurfers
of higher level. The winds on both spots are stable all year round, but the El
Altet spot is situated on a beach for holidaymakers which makes it difficult to
navigate in summer.
SUP (Stand Up Paddle) |
The calm days when there are no waves you can
enjoy kayaking to explore the bay.
